Teen shot dead on Southside near I-465
A 17-year-old boy died early this morning after being shot in the chest on the city’s Southside.
About 1 a.m. Indianapolis police were called to the Capitol Place Apartments in the 4300 block of Declaration Drive, where they found the victim. The apartments are behind a Kroger shopping plaza just north of I-465 and East Street.
The teen died at Wishard Hospital. IMPD Sgt. Linda Jackson said police would not release the victimās name ādue to the ongoing investigation and the fact that the victim is a juvenile.āā
