The Hot Sheet – Fever Look to Bounce Back in Seattle
The Hot Sheet with Shavona Slayz
If you missed The Hot Sheet this morning, here’s what went down yesterday with the Indiana Fever as they look to bounce back.
After dropping back-to-back games on the road—first to Golden State and then to the Las Vegas Aces—the Fever (6–7) will wrap up their West Coast swing tonight in Seattle. Despite the two-game skid, Aliyah Boston has been a bright spot, putting up double-doubles and proving why she’s one of the league’s elite. She scored 17 points and grabbed 12 boards against the Valkyries, then followed it up with 26 points and 10 rebounds against the defending champs in Vegas.
Boston now leads the WNBA in field goal percentage (.603) and ranks top 10 in rebounds per game. But the Fever will need more than just her effort tonight. The Seattle Storm (9–5) have won three straight and are stacked with talent—Skylar Diggins, Nneka Ogwumike, and former Fever guard Erica Wheeler are all cooking. The Storm also rank near the top of the league in 3-point shooting, so Indy’s defense will need to lock in.
The Fever have already secured a spot in the Commissioner’s Cup Championship on July 1, but momentum going into that game is key. Tip-off against the Storm is tonight at 10 PM EST.
Let’s go, Fever—bring that energy back to Indy!
