A devoted fan is taking the NFL to court after what many saw as one of the biggest draft day shocks of 2025.

Shedeur Sanders, son of Deion “Coach Prime” Sanders and standout QB from Colorado, fell all the way to the 5th round of the NFL Draft. Now, one Georgia man is calling it out for what he believes it really was — racial bias, backroom politics, and collusion.

The anonymous fan, listed as John Doe, has filed a $100 million lawsuit accusing NFL owners and executives of purposely sabotaging Sanders’ draft stock.

The suit alleges collusion, racial discrimination, and even emotional distress, claiming teams spread false reports and negative stories about Sanders to tank his value — all while ignoring his undeniable talent.

Let’s be clear: Shedeur threw for over 4,000 yards and 37 touchdowns last season. He was widely projected to go in the first round, and many believed he had the tools to be a franchise QB.

So when his name didn’t get called until pick 144 by the Cleveland Browns, fans — especially Black fans — were rightfully asking: What’s really going on here?

According to court documents, the plaintiff became a major Shedeur supporter after watching him go off in a 2023 game against TCU.

Seeing his draft day slide hit hard — not just as a sports moment, but as a reflection of how Black talent is too often devalued, doubted, or dismissed.

The lawsuit doesn’t just ask for money. The fan also wants a public apology from the NFL, a retraction of the negative statements made about Shedeur, and most importantly, real changes to how the draft process works — calling for more transparency and fairness in how players are evaluated.

Shedeur hasn’t made a public statement about the lawsuit, and neither has the NFL. But that hasn’t stopped the conversation.

Celebs like Yung Miami and Shenseea have already shown love and called out the NFL for the disrespect.

And on social media, the energy is clear: We see the pattern — and we’re tired of it.

Whether or not the lawsuit moves forward legally, it’s already stirring up a bigger conversation about how Black athletes are treated in major league sports — and how fans are no longer staying silent.

As Shedeur gears up for his rookie season with the Browns, he now carries more than just expectations — he represents a bigger fight around respect, equity, and the power of Black talent to shine, no matter where the system tries to place us.
