Ari Lennox Enters Her Soft Girl Era and Says Goodbye to Dreamville

Ari Lennox is stepping into a new season — and she’s doing it solo.

After nearly a decade of soulful tracks, sister-girl anthems, and deep ties to J. Cole’s Dreamville Records, Ari has officially parted ways with the label that helped launch her career.

Word is, the split from Dreamville was drama-free and full of love.

TMZ Hip Hop confirmed she’s no longer signed to Cole’s camp and will be moving forward under Interscope Records on her own.

Her latest release, “Soft Girl Era,” dropped under just that label — a quiet but clear signal she’s on her own wave now.

This shift comes just weeks after Ari gave what many are calling her farewell performance at Dreamville Fest, where she thanked J. Cole and the team for taking a chance on her back in 2015.

That moment marked the end of a bumpy few months — folks remember back in October 2024, when Ari was publicly asking to be let go from the label. But let’s be clear: this ain’t no beef. Just growth.

Now she’s switching gears with “Soft Girl Era” — a smooth, floaty track full of flirty energy and feminine grace. The song samples New Birth’s ‘70s classic “You Are What I’m All About” — the same one Biggie and Lil’ Kim flipped on “Player’s Anthem”.

It’s giving vintage soul with a modern twist. But while some fans are already asking for that Shea Butter Baby Ari to return, others are embracing the evolution.

Ari’s just getting started on this new chapter, and like she said herself — let her cook.
